MIPIM 2018, Atenao accompanies the Brazilian Secretary of State for Tourism

Nestled between sea and mountain, luxury and simplicity, Cannes leaves a lasting impression on all who visit. The town offers endless opportunities for renovation to those who shape it. So where better to welcome MIPIM, the world’s leading property convention, than this urban gem of worldwide fame?

As the largest international convention for property professionals, MIPIM gathers the most important players from every property sector (offices, residential, businesses, health, sport, logistics, industrial etc) for four days of conferences and networking. It offers unparalleled access to the largest property development projects and global sources of capital. In numbers, that’s 25,000 exhibitors, 3,000 companies representing over one hundred countries, over 360 speakers, 5,000 investors, 5,800 CEOs and over one hundred conferences.

From 13 to 16 March 2018, two of our interpreters who specialise in urban planning attended to accompany Mr Antônio Parente, the Brazilian Secretary of State for Tourism. In a field as material as housing, where regulations and lifestyles vary from one culture to another, it would be difficult to communicate in a foreign language. Our interpreters juggled English, French and Portuguese to ensure a perfect understanding between the delegation and the various players at the exhibition and open the door to discussions about building tomorrow’s world. This also brought the opportunity to highlight the special case of Brazil, where urban growth needs reshaping.

The Brazilian team rose to the occasion and commended our interpreters for their diligent and attentive work. Their skilled ears made Brazil stand out to potential partners, reminding us of the heart of what we do: connecting people with common goals.
